Building the Future of Public Banking Together

In January, we gathered for a pivotal Public Bank East Bay Advance in Oakland—a day filled with deep discussions, strategic planning, and renewed commitment to economic justice.

With representatives from across our coalition—including community members, financial experts, and elected officials—we tackled the big questions about how to capitalize our bank and ensure that public banking becomes a reality in the Bay Area.

If the last few weeks have taught us anything… now more than ever is the time to build new, local, resilient and critical institutions that will protect our neighbors and our values and needs.

We explored the steps needed to actively align with movements that share our vision, including housing advocates, labor unions, and economic justice groups.

The path ahead is ambitious, but our momentum is undeniable. With collaboration, strategic advocacy, and community power, we are positioning Public Bank East Bay to be a transformational force for economic equity.

A huge thank you to our dedicated teams and endorsers—this work wouldn’t be possible without each and every one of you. Together, we are building the financial future our communities deserve.

If you're passionate about economic justice and financial systems that serve people over profit, let's connect!
