30+ Attend Community Event in Berkeley

We’re glad to have been joined by more than 30 community members at our Community Discussion Event at the Berkeley Central Public Library on April 7th. Public Bank East Bay (PBEB) is a community-led organization working to establish the first public bank in the US in over 100 years.

PBEB volunteer Bhairavi Senthilkumar discussed the role public banking  can play in building healthy, resilient communities--countering the current extractive system, which siphons public dollars for private profits.

Community members engaged in a thoughtful discussion about the bank's governance structure and lending priorities, with plenty of food to go around.

If you missed this one, stay tuned for details on our May event. In the meantime, stay connected and get involved. Sign up for our newsletter.
